Happy 4th

We packed up and headed to the lake last Wed. It was really so much fun to be there before the crowd came. the lake was so peaceful and calm. Liza caught around 9999 fish. She loved every second of the lake. she swam all day everyday, only getting out to catch more fish or throw rocks.

they did this for hours...one after another....

cricket and liza have this thing where they say " you look like aaaaaaaaaan ENCHILADA" and then they laugh and tickle...sometimes it is switched up for taco. but it gets liza every time. she laughs and laughs and laughs. it started at their house earlier in the summer and she loves this game so much.

at the club last night for fireworks..alex and mccoy

my parents always take the boat out to watch the sunset. mccoy was fast asleep... we were in a hurry to leave and my dad was rushed so he grabbed the bottle of wine but forgot cups so we first passed the bottle around and took sips then realized liza had her princess sippy cup and we drank wine out of that.

she told me she would kill me if i put these up here but i figure she'll get over it... :)

coco always has activities and they were painting the rocks. liza thought it was so fun to turn the water different colors too.
i forget how much i love the lake..we don't get there near as much as we should. it really does have a healing effect. we ate every meal outside on the deck. it wasn't too hot and felt great. liza loved watching all the birds out there. we did have a few sleep problems. neither child thought it was a good idea to sleep. mccoy had a terrible time thru the night. i think the first 2 nights we were there i totaled about 5 hours. we would get one down and then the other would wake up and it was a vicious cycle. i had to wake my mom up the last 2 nights to help with mccoy. it felt like i had a brand new baby again! ha! thank goodness we had help!
we had such a great week. we came back on sat to do the 4th festivities at the club. it rained all the way home and then turned out to be pretty! liza was so so scared about the fireworks so we watched them in the car. she ended up kinda liking them. she would say "the pink ones are my favorite part" daddy, just wait one more second...
loved this from my simple abundance book this month..
Sultry, steaming, sweltering July. slow down. or stop. it's time to shed ambition and expectation, along with commutes, clothing, cell phones, calenders. now our wants seem to deminish. is it because our needs are met? a shady nook, a cold drink, a cool breeze--whether indoors or out. a respite from the rigors of the day. time off for good behaviour. summer is not so much a season as a melody, that tune of contentment we hum as the days begin to beautifully blur. the pursuit of happiness becomes our personal priority this month, as the sweet strains of harmony start to be heard in our hearts.

Hmmmm! I was a great weekend and I did drink wine from the bottle. Somehow I knew it would wind up somewhere when Jason titled it, "Drinking wine in the Ozarks!"

Thanks for help with cooking and cleaning up, Kate and Jason!

Love, Coco

Love the pics and especially Cricket and Liza fishing. It looked so relaxing in the Ozarks. Can't believe how much McCoy has grown in two weeks. Dad and I spent the weekend in HotSprings with our friends Jan and G White to celebrate our 45!!! It was very relaxing in our little cove.
Know it was fun for everyone and Liza will have wonderful memories.
Love Mom
