Happy 60th Dad!

Happy 60th Birthday Dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are a few things that my dad has taught me over the years....
we love ya!


He loved punishments. He would think about them forever. I had gotten a speeding ticket one time I had to do community service all summer because he said the judge ordered me to ....later he said that "he just wanted me to to learn my lesson" the judge had never ordered me to do anything! He taught us that nothing comes without consequence.


There was this look that was over his glasses when you knew you were in trouble. he wouldn't raise his voice, he would talk quietly with gritted teeth and you knew you shouldn't have done it

Taught me about friendship and nurturing it. He loves getting friends together...

We always say one of my dad's hobbies is entertaining...

growing up we were always surrounded by my parent's friends..whether it was meeting on the wall in our yard for salsa and drinks with the neighbors or planning huge 4th of july parades and walking around putting fliers in peoples mailboxes. He taught us how to welcome people and celebrate life.


We would go on vacations with our friends every year...skiing was always a fun time with about 5-6 families...it was something we all looked forward to..he taught us that spending money on vacations are worth every penny...the memories are irreplaceable.

He taught me to be loyal to my family...



he doesn't speak a bad word about his family. he takes us for what we are.


He taught me the importance of getting away


All of our lives were all so busy and still are and it was always nice to get away from it all...



which brings me to



The Lake



the lake has always been a time for us to spend AWAY from anything. WITH our friends and family... you can't really talk on the phone there..tv's not great..all you have is the water, food and people! He taught us that sometimes you have to take the world out of your world and enjoy the simple things in life which are friends and family



Dad taught all of us to ski (with the help of ronnie) i can remember knee boarding and dad telling me to do a 360..he would turn his finger in the air..when i was learning how to do it he would want me to get it down before we went in for the day.....he taught us determination.



I can remember one night at the clarks dad led all the kids around the room singing "daaaaaay-o" daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayo...." song....he taught us how to have fun.



Arkansas



We would always get a big Springfield group together to come down for a razorback game. We used to stay in a huge house on mt. kessler. it was on tons of land and was so much fun. we would come down with about 3-4 families and all stay there.. all the kids would stay upstairs and then come down and preform a song for the parents..



My dad has taught me to give back to the things that make you happy...



His college, his family, his friends, his community, theater, and the list goes on...



He has taught us about hard work..



you will work with people you don't like and hours you don't like and companies you don't like all to provide for the things you DO like...


These are just a few of the things my dad has taught me....(i'm sure i'll think of more before the end of the day!)
but most of all he has taught me about love....thanks dad!!!!!! wish we were there to celebrate!
