Last week we were proud to celebrate Jason receiving the 40 under 40 honors from the NWA business Journal.

In Sunday school this morning we talked about making love last a lifetime. We talked about marriage being a mission in which 2 people minister to each other. Your spouse is the one God calls on to bless you and encourage you. So, today I thought I would use this as an excuse to show Jason what I admire about him!

Dear Jason,

With every small personal interaction throughout your day, you manage to make each person feel special and important.

Your friends cover every age group, every class, every difference that can be seen.

They are not alike except for the fact that they all call you their friend.

We have been together for 10 years and i am still meeting people that you call your "very good friends"

you know how to be a good friend.

you are thoughtful and kind

you are funny. oh so funny

you want your days full. each of them. you gobble up each minute of each day doing something you enjoy.

whether it is making a good business deal, helping someone understand a loan, eating lunch with friends, planning a golf tourney, honking as you turn into our neighborhood so you can see how excited our kids get to see you come home from work, or watching one of my reality shows with me.(haha)

we are proud of you everyday.

Jason Carter started learning the mortgage business from a friend in banking in 2003 and hasn’t looked back. It quickly became a gratifying challenge he equates to “working a puzzle.”


“You never see the same thing twice,” he said.

In 1995, after a year as a sales representative for Alltel Mobile, the University of Arkansas communications graduate took over his third-generation family business, managing nine Hancock Fabric stores in Arkansas until 2003.

Now owner of his own lending company, and armed with a real estate license as a bonus, Carter loves being able to seal the deal for first-time homebuyers. Being the owner cuts out middleman costs — savings he can pass along to customers, he said.

“The satisfaction of seeing people so excited with their first home is by far the greatest attribute,” he said.

So far in 2010, nearly 50 people have been able to purchase new homes and another 50 have been able to refinance with Carter’s help.

Carter is involved in the Pagnozzi Charity, which provides disadvantaged youth a chance to play sports, and he sits on the Kampaign for Kids committee, a support network for Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

His advice for getting a referral? “Never burn a bridge,” he said. “You never know when you may need help from someone you’ve met before.”
