As liza would say... A stay at home day!!!

We had the best "stay at home day" . Mccoy has been sleeping in since i have taken off work....i wonder if maybe he would always be a sleeper inner if it wasn't for always having to scoot out the door early? or maybe it is because we have been staying up late...anywho...liza and i had already done 10000 things by 9am when mccoy started his day. liza is busy. she can multi task like a pro. she can be doing a connect the dot snow man, getting cookies in her easy bake oven, watching a cartoon, making her next move on candyland and writing and illustrating a book. i am merely on her heels as her assistant. she has jobs for me. purple marker. spray for the cookie pan, put on pixar short films, move my candyland man back to gumdrop mountain and staple the "book" together AND write on the cover that this is a caldecott award winner.
when we got bored at 9:15 we packed up and went to eat doughnuts at ricks.
we then headed to the library to see what was going down there
we stayed there all morning!

That night we went down to see the lights one last time! we got to see ponies, carriages, camels, santa and reindeer. liza told santa all she wanted was a stuffed animal kitty.
she has been saying this for two weeks now and i thought she was going to forget it. each time i say...i thought you wanted a puppy...or i try to name off the other 100 things that i have bought. and she answers...no, i said ALL i want is a kitty.
so after we came home and drank hot chocolate...
i went to toys r us.
do we do this? is this against the rules? can she change her list on santa? i tried telling her that santa had packed his sleigh and she just kept saying that she had been telling him that she wanted a kitty forever. and i guess 2 weeks is like forever in their brains? and maybe when she is 6 the rules will be more concrete?
probably not. oh well. i am sure when they are 18 and smelly i will be wishing we were back to doing late night shopping trips to get that special kitty that will make eyes twinkle christmas morning.
but if anyone in this house understands the true meaning of christmas it is liza.
she stays up late reading her bible.
ya, you heard me.
i said her BIBLE!
she loves it.
she has every story memorized and can "read" them to me.
it is kind of crazy.
she has this heightened understanding of God, Jesus and Heaven.
She asks LOTS of questions.
I love that she knows Jesus loves her! :)
we were reading the max lucado kids book last night about heaven and she looked at me and said mom, if i go to heaven before you, i will wait for you there. (makes me tear up thinking about it)
and i said " what?? you better not beat me to heaven i will run faster than you and i will get there first and wait on YOU!" :) she laughed and laughed and said ok mom well you are lots older than me since you are 21 and i am 5.
BELIEVE my sweet girl, BELIEVE! ;)

the kids have also been "playing" christmas. liza orchestrates all of this and gives us each our cast roll based on our talents. you can be either santa, mom or children. there is sometimes an extra that is snowball the cat. liza has also taken an interest in wrapping presents. she has picked no less that 100 gifts around the house and wrapped them for all of her loved ones. they are all under our tree so i am hoping the wrapped toilet paper holder for cricket doesn't actually get packed in the car.
