Here's a pic of all the cousins: Grant, Logan, Morgan and Chandler

Granny at Linda's Christmas morning brunch. She serves shrimp and grits, assorted pastries, egg casserole, crab quiche, strawberry almond pastry and i'm sure i'm forgetting a few things! It is yummy food!
Also, Liza opened her stocking and got some Kleenex and she marched over to tell granny that those were for getting her boogers out.

Liza is peaking to see what the presents look like!

ok, so where did I leave off...
we fly into camden on two wheels...(not REALLY mom, just saying it for effect..we were safe i promise!!)
anyways...we pull into camden and i can feel the car ick oozing out of the windows...we were late and getting our frazzle back..ok, lets be honest..we never got rid of it.
so we pull in and get ready and race down to granny's were everyone is waiting on us!
here's a backgrounder...
jason's family has been doing this ever since anyone was alive. they have a huge christmas eve dinner at granny's and open presents. they have the exact same food every year. (it is also the same meal as thanksgiving) they are blessed with tradition! for the most part everyone is always present at this dinner! (we get credit every other year)
i know i'm going to butcher this but here is the food they have:
turkey and ham. rolls. dressing. gravy. sweet potatoes. green beans. cranberry dressing. i have seen a broccoli salad come in and out. new this year was macaroni and cheese and a veggie casserole. ALWAYS butter AND oleo. pecan pie.egg custard pie. trifle. AND boiled custard.
jason LOVES this food. i have never seen a family that is so brought together by food! throughout the whole meal we are talking about the food! :) haha! i always joke about bringing something but jason gets so nervous that i would actually do it. i wanted to take pics of all of it that night but it was kind of chaotic so i didn't get it done. did i mention that jason takes most of this home as leftovers? some years he gets organized he will bring his own Tupperware with him! these leftovers go all the way up to springfield and then back down to fayetteville with us.
granny is 91 so she has given up cooking this year...i think linda and aunt alice had their hands full! there were 22 of us there for dinner this year...all at one table (mccoy got to sit right next to granny! eek! thankfully he didn't bring any refried beans or his usual messy food :) )
i didn't get to take many pics because i had my hands full of kiddos but liza had a great time with jason's cousin will's little boy named tristan! we found them jumping on granny's bed a few times!
so around noon on christmas everyone clears out and we all head to our next stops!

I didn't realize I was so behind in blogs! I loved your Christmas tree, Kate, and the description of December 23 - 25 with the kids and family. Every meal in Camden sounds yummy and inviting. Granny is beautiful (and deserves to be not cooking and instead waited on at 91) and the Carter grandchildren are precious. Hope everyone is resting up this week. I know we are. But it's a good tired as Christmas is so much fun. Love, Coco
